Hinton traditional, blended, and virtual students have been in school four days! Breakfast will continue to be available in your child's classroom starting at 7:45 A.M. - 8:00 A.M. Monday through Friday and lunch will continue to be served in the cafeteria for elementary and middle schools students and the Comet Kitchen in the high school commons. Social distancing and hand sanitizer usage is expected of all students before, during, and after eating.
All but 30 breakfast/lunch applications have been received from the district students. If you are one of the 30 that has not submitted your application to the Child Nutrition Director, Christy White, please make it a priority. Notification letters will be mailed out to the 30 today.
The health and safety of our students and employees is a top priority of Hinton Schools. Each day Mrs. Derryberry receives notification of active COVID-19 cases in the area. Upon the data received, a decision is made daily as to what phase we will be under. Currently, we are on PLAN A. As we continue to be in PLAN A, please help us by encouraging your children and family to mask up when in groups of people, wash hands, use hand sanitizer, and to social distance by keeping a space of 6 feet or more between them and another person. If you, someone living in your home, or your student have COVID-19 symptoms, is exposed or have tested positive, please notify your child's building principal immediately. The health and safety of our students, employees and community is top priority.
Bus drivers from our community are still needed.
Remember to call or email the school with any questions or concerns. 405-542-3235.
Thank you for your continued support of our district.

Parents/Guardians,
If you or child is exposed to COVID-19, please notify your child’s building principal immediately. The health and safety of our students and employees is top priority at Hinton Public Schools.
Attention All Pre-K Parents: Tomorrow please bring your Pre-K student to the front of the Elementary located at 513 N. Marion. Their Teachers will be there to meet and greet you for the First Day of School! Teachers will be there beginning at 7:45. You may take pictures before the classes enter the building to start their learning adventure!

Hinton students will be returning to the classroom traditionally or virtually tomorrow, Thursday, August 13 at 8:00 A.M. Students are asked to arrive at their site between 7:45 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. All students will have the opportunity to eat breakfast upon arrival in their classroom or homeroom. If you have not filled out a Child Nutrition form, please print it from the school's website, fill it out, and then return it to school ASAP. This information is vital to our schools funding.
The health and safety of our students and employees is a top priority. Our students will report to their teacher or first hour teacher upon arrival to school. No assemblies or group meetings will be taking place. Please talk with your child concerning their responsibility of themselves to be safe and healthy. Encourage them to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer as well as keep a distance between them and others. Although Hinton Schools is on PLAN A (mask are highly recommended), please go ahead and send a mask with your child. We have disposable mask available if they do not have one.
The Caddo County Health Department ,Oklahoma State Health Department, and the CDC are the best resources for current information about Coronavirus. Please continue to refer to the schools app in order that you know the PLAN situation as it can change rapidly and cause us as a school to pivot to A or C. Again, currently we are on PLAN A. We all want this to be as smooth as possible but please know this is uncharted territory. Remember to be patient and kind as we work to make this the best experience possible for your child.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's principal. counselor, or teacher. Hinton School employee's are looking forward to a good start.
Thank you for your continued support of our district.

To those signing up with 4H in Hinton.....
I just got a call from the county extension office. The caddo county foundation has offered an enrollment fee match this year. So when you go to enroll, select pay with check instead of pay online. Then you can send a check with your kiddo to school for $10 (instead of $20) after you fill out the enrollment info.
