Hinton Schools has been in session 12 days! During these 12 days our Hinton Community/Area has remained at 4 active COVID-19 cases each day. All parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators please continue to follow the Hinton Schools Re-Entry Plans and Procedures. There is nothing more important to Hinton Schools than the safety and health of our students, our staff and their families. Be mindful of following best practices to help prevent the spread of COVID-19: -Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. -Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 % alcohol if soap and water aren't available. -Avoid close contact with those who are sick. -Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects. -Stay at home when you are sick. -Practice social distancing, leaving at least six feet between you and other people. -Wear a cloth mask in public when you cannot social distance. COVID-19 is transmitted through person-to-person contact and through the exchange of respiratory droplets. As more cases are being confirmed across the state, we must be vigilant. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you or any member of your family exhibit these symptoms, please contact your medical provider for advice immediately. Symptoms usually appear 2-14 days after exposure. Our greatest priority is the safety of our students, staff and community members. We appreciate everyone and the continued support of Hinton Schools. GO COMETS! Mrs. Derryberry

Please let the building secretary of your oldest child(ren) know if there is a need for internet service for your student(s). Distance Learning is a path that may have to be taken at any time. Hinton Schools wants to make sure all students can access online Distance Learning through the use of cell phone hotspots or by your internet provider. Many parents have a hotspot option from their cell service. Again, contact the school secretary of your oldest child to let us know if you do not have this for your home. It is important to have access and connectivity before the possibility of Distance Learning happens for your child(ren). Call 405-542-3235 and press the extension needed to talk to the secretary.

Please note these important changes concerning fans and attendance at Hinton athletic events this season. 1. Social distancing and masks are strongly recommended. Steps are being taken to provide more space in the bleachers at football games. 2. Only school personnel, officials, and student athletes are allowed on the field. This includes before, during, and after games. 3. Any adults that are on field (primarily for pictures) must have prior approval from Mr. Hohmann. These individuals must also wear a mask at all times while on the sidelines. These individuals may only be the Hinton sideline and not in the area where players are gathered. 4. For those fans sitting in the bleachers, we ask that you do not chew sunflower seeds. 5. For senior night, we will allow the athlete and their parents to be on field for introductions. Masks will not be required at this time but distancing will be enforced. 6. Homecoming procedures and activities will be posted next week. Please remember these procedures are for the safety of our students. Thank you for your cooperation! Go Comets!

As we continue to be in PLAN A, please help us by encouraging your children and family to mask up when in groups of people, wash hands, use hand sanitizer, and to social distance by keeping a space of 6 feet or more between them and another person.
