Dear Comet School Family:

Our hearts are heavy today as we continue to mourn the loss of Levi Mills, a student at Hinton
High School. Levi was a treasured member of our school family, and we extend our sincere
sympathy and support to his loved ones and friends during this difficult time.

Levi had the best outlook and attitude. His fun-loving laugh and shining personality was a
highlight of many days for his school family. Levi made our school a better place with his
presence. He was especially proud to be a member of The Pride of Hinton Band. He always
shared his love of music with his school family.

Levi was loved by so many, and his passing is difficult for us all. Counselors were available for students at school yesterday and will continue to be for as long as needed. If your child would like to talk with someone about their concerns or feelings during this difficult time, please contact the school to let us know. We have many caring professionals as part of our school family who can support and assist them.

Levi's funeral will be this Friday at 11 A.M. in the Hinton Comet Coliseum. His family has
extended an invitation to friends and family who would like to attend.

As a reminder, school will be closed across the district Friday due to parent-teacher
conferences.

Hinton is a close-knit school community. ln our school family, no one experiences pain or loss
alone. Our students, parents, and staff take pride in caring for one another. Please continue to
keep Levi's family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Marcy Derryberry
Superintendent
