After just missing the mark to qualify for state cheer in 2021, the Comet Cheer Squad is on its way back to the State Cheer Competition. Coaches Jennifer Hohmann and Emberly VanHuss led the squad through regionals in Stroud this past Saturday to make their upcoming appearance at state possible.

This year will mark the 17th time that the Hinton High School Cheer Team has qualified for the state competition. In those 17 appearances, they’ve brought home 5 championship titles. The first of those titles were won in 2008, followed by a 4-peat in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. A feat that is almost unheard of! The Comets will be competing for their 6th title this Saturday at the UMAC Center at Tulsa Union High School, taking center stage at 10:15 a.m.

Good luck to HHS Cheer as they compete in state and carry on their winning tradition!
